March Favourites

March has been a hectic month for me and the weather's been pretty awful too but I've got used to changing my beauty routine. I now fill in my eyebrows which I never used to and have also been getting used to having Glossyboxes every month!

Yankee Candle in Midnight Jasmine
This is my second Yankee candle and the only scent I've ever purchased. I'm more of a fan of the white ranges at Yankee because I feel they're a little more natural. This smell is soft and subtle and sweet but not overpowering. I light it when I'm feeling stressed or needing to relax and for such a small candle, it really makes a difference by how pretty it looks and its smell.

Soap & Glory Smoothie Star Deep Moisture Body Milk
I cannot rave about this enough! It is so moisturising and the smell is just to die for! Enriched with almond, cocoa, yoghurt, oat and honey; the best way I can describe is that it smells a lot like a sweet steaming bowl of porridge! It really does moisturise the skin very well and the fragrance is left on your clothes and skin all day making you smell good enough to eat!

Sudocrem
This month has been very unkind to my skin. I don't know if it's the insane changes in temperature or that Spring has arrived but my face is suffering from many a cruel face demon. Dollop a bit of this on a bad spot, go to bed and hey presto, in the morning the spot is visibly reduced and no longer red and annoying! My go to spot remover. It's super cheap, useful for other things and a little goes a long way!

Jelly Pong Pong Lip Blush | Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain
I have been loving lip stains this month and my favourites are the Revlon ones but I also came across the lip blush in the March Glossybox. Both are just gorgeous on the lips and though the Revlon stains are a little on the pricey side, I can't say no to such an amazing product with fantastic colour pay off and that lasts for ages! Both are actually super moisturising too.

Benefit They're Real! Mascara
This has been non stop blethered about for months. Like so many other mascaras it tells you its going to give you the false lash effect and give you more length but... it actually does. This is the BEST mascara I have ever ever used and I would go far as to say it is so worth its £18.50 price tag. So many mascaras flake off half way through the day but this baby stays put until the moment you take it off. Luckily this was given to me by my sister but I have no inhibitions about shelling out almost twenty quid for it. It is just such an amazing mascara. (Plus it's a very true black colour, none of this grey stuff!)

Ciaté in Purple Sherbet
I rediscovered this in my collection and didn't use it much because I thought it was the same as the popular Models Own Lilac Dream; however, it's a lot lighter and actually more of a lavender nude. It's absolutely beautiful and a slightly more sophisticated lavender shade too.

Jemma Kidd Essential Smoky Kit
I'd been on the lookout for the right eyebrow fill in colour and so many on the highstreet were too dark. I was just about to shell out on a MAC eyebrow pencil when I tried mixing the two brown shadows in this palette. They match perfectly with my eyebrows and the little square brush helps me get a neat shape. I'm really enjoying filling in my brows with this.

Juicy Couture's Couture La la
I love getting fragrance samples as I'm always too stingy to shell out for a bottle and I've been in love with the Juicy Couture fragrances for a while and was chuffed with this sample. The fragrance blends sparkling mandarin with bold white florals to create a daring and feminine scent. I really love this smell and it does stay put all day too.

So those are my beauty favourites of the month and I thought I'd throw in my song and TV show for the month of March:

Song of the month
Agitata da due venti - Vivaldi | sung by Cecilia Bartoli
One of these days, I will conquer this song myself! It's just an absolutely beautiful, exciting and outrageously difficult song to sing but shows of Cecilia Bartoli's brilliant agility.

Tv show of the month
Heading Out - BBC Two
I've always loved Sue Perkins. She's such an inspiration and wonderfully witty and clever. Heading Out is a six week sit-com written by Sue Perkins and follows the journey of a 40 year old vet trying to tell her parents that she's gay. It's such a cute witty story and quintessentially Sue Perkins comedy which just makes me love it that little bit more.

This was definitely a hefty post but hopefully an interesting one. Let me know if there is anything you'd like a blog post on in the future and again thank you so much for reading :)

Take care x

I thought it would be a wee bit of fun to do the 25 Questions Tag so here we go!

Yes! And I actually love going to Yo! Sushi in Glasgow but it's a little expensive.

Pepsi sells better than Coke and I can tell the difference! Lol haha rant over! I can tell the difference and I'm a much bigger fan of Coke.

So I hope you enjoyed finding out a little bit about me and my craziness! Thank you so much for reading and as always:

Take care x

My Top 7 Spring Nail Polishes

Spring and Summer nail colours are so beautiful and I have to admit, every year I do tend to recycle the same gorgeous colours. Pastels were a huge trend last year and Spring 2013 is set to be pale and nude nails but also pale limes, yellows and lavenders and the odd colourful textured polish.

Models Own Golden Peach and Indian Ocean are two of my favourite shimmer polishes in my collection and they look beautiful over cream colours. Golden Peach looks jazzes up Tart Deco and Indian Ocean looks absolutely beautiful on either Purple Sherbert or Lilac Dream. It also creates the perfect holographic dupe (see here).

Essie Tart Deco was huge a few years ago and the new popular Essie 'It' Polish this year is Fiji (must get hands on it, must get hands on it, must get hands on it). Tart Deco looks different in several different lights but essentially is a gorgeous creamy pinky coral and reminds me of guavas.

Barry M Block Orange and Essie Status Symbol are two neon block colours and look great with a white outfit or colour blocking outfits. The pink lip, orange nail trend was pretty big last Spring and even though I'm not sure it's quite as big this year, I don't tend to care because that orange just makes me smile!

Are there any Spring nail polishes that you would recommend? Let me know! Thanks for reading,

FOREVER 21 Glasgow Opening | 22nd March 2013

This is possibly the longest awaited shop to hit Glasgow and I'm soooo unbelievably happy that it has. Being an insane addict of YouTube, I never hear the end of this amazingly cheap yet completely edgy and fashionable shop that everyone and their Mother in the US has bought from. So imagine my excitement when a 3 floor giant Forever 21 opened in Glasgow...

I have to admit I get slightly more excited about Forever 21 jewellery than I do about they're clothes... *hushedsilence* They have such a wide range (I mean we're talking half a floor dedicated to jewellery) and a delicious mix of studs and spikes to goddess and aztec design.

Bangle - I absolutely adore gold and I think designed in the right way it looks more expensive than cheap. Plus I can never get enough of studs.

Aztec statement necklace -  I've been dying for a statement necklace and having triangles with gold and white detailing just ticked all the boxes for me.

Delicate stud necklace - Now, I'm not that crazy about delicate necklaces as they always get tangled or lost and are always too expensive for what they are, but this little spike was just the most adorable little thing ever and at a price of just over £1.50, it was an absolute bargain.

Ahhhhh another goofy smile yet again...
The weather in Glasgow is rubbish. Everyone knows that and it's currently almost April and we've had  half a week of snow. Ridiculous I hear you say! But being me, I ended up buying some sunglasses. Typical. (I have about 12 pairs...) I just couldn't say no though! You can see why. I absolutely adore the gold detailing at the side. It makes the glasses look a lot more expensive and better quality. I think black is always a good colour for sunglasses plus it makes it easier to match outfits. I don't have a summer holiday planned for this year but I hope I'll get some wear out of them!

I give my friend Claire credit for this dress. She called my name, held up the dress and for a brief moment it was just me and the dress staring at each other in a silent room alone... I love it. It's beautiful. I apologise for not modelling it so you could see it's true beauty but I took these pictures at 9pm and the lighting would have just be utterly shoddy. So I will use my powers of description. It's essentially a midriff top and a high waisted mini skirt attached together by a zip and two strings at the side. It is completely figure hugging and the gap in the middle shows off a bit of midriff. It's really really flattering for boyish figures or curvy figures and the contrasting horizontal and vertical stripes trick the eye and smooth out any little body imperfections you might hate. It's also made of a brilliant stretchy material which makes it so much more comfortable.

That all seems like a measly amount and to be honest I would have raided Forever 21 for hours but being a student, money isn't exactly kind to you! I shall return next month! Thanks for reading everybody.

Take care x

'80s Wearable Makeup

At some point we all have a yearning for a pop of colour and even though the 1980s were way out there in the sense of fashion and beauty, I think everyone secretly loves the 80s. So since the party makeup of the 80s would scare away children nowadays, I thought I'd create a wearable 80s makeup look for Spring or Summer.

The best thing about this look is you can amp it up or neutral it down as you wish. I like grooming my eyebrows but that step is obviously optional and I used a slight sweep of bronzer and blush but if you really want to feel that 80s vibe, I say add more!

Products used:
Jemma Kidd Essential Smoky Kit
MUA Glamour Days Palette
Maybelline FIT Me Concealer
Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation
Soap & Glory Thick & Fast Super Volume Mascara
Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

Sunday Afternoon Bliss

I cheekily went out clubbing last night and therefore woke up this morning feeling a smidgen worse for wear. So I thought I'd have a wee pampering sesh this afternoon before back to RCS tomorrow!

LUSH The Enchanter bath bomb
Now, no pampering bath is complete without a bath bomb and of course it has to be from Lush. I bought this beautiful large orange one called The Enchanter. This bomb is gorgeous and as you can see it foams and swirls into a blend of hot orange, hot pink and yellow and leaves the bath water an amusing translucent and fluorescent orange! It was surprisingly moisturising actually and whoever said bright colours lift the mood is completely right!

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub

Oh...just...just smell it! This body scrub smells euphoric, amazing, delicious, zesty, sassy, beautiful - I could go on and on! The Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub has been flying around blogs and YouTube for a while and initially I wasn't that keen on the smell but it has grown on me and I smell it every time I go into Boots! The brown sugar and macadamia nut grains work as natural and brilliant exfoliants while the sweet lime and almond oil work as delicious moisturisers and make the scrub smell divine. I swear one of these days I will end up tasting it...

Pantene Pro V Nature Fusion Strength and Moisture Shampoo, Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor Deep Conditioner, Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Leave-in Conditioner

I'm always changing my shampoo and conditioners but at the moment I like using the Pantene shampoo for strength and moisturising. I find that it moisturises my hair well while still protecting my split ends and purifying my hair. I've always been a fan of Aussie, their products smell amazing and I noticed improvements to my split ends after one use of the 3 minute conditioner. I don't however, see any difference when I use the leave in conditioner, it just makes my hair smell nice when it's dried.

Soap & Glory Deep Moisture Body Milk
I love this moisturiser to pieces, it just smells absolutely delicious. It applies smoothly and glides onto the skin. It has a creamy consistency and I actually love the colour because sometimes bright white moisturisers can leave you looking a bit pale! A really love tasty smelling all over body moisturiser.

I don't know about you, but my heels get very dry as I'm always walking around and on my feet most of the day. This moisturiser is a shimmering light blue colour with a watery feel and glides just as beautiful as the body milk all over the feet. I start with a dollop on the heel and massage that in then work the rest of the gloop up to the balls of my feet and my toes which don't get as dry as my heels. This moisturiser has a subtler clean smell which I love because it smells fresher and better than putting sweet oatmeal smelling glop on your feet!

These are the products I like to use to pamper myself and I really recommend Soap & Glory if you fancy delicious smelling moisturisers and body washes! I love a good colourful bath! Just the perfect de-stresser! (I know it's not a word!) :P
